This coming Saturday 27th October will see the SUPSA Flat Water Race 2 from Budds Beach surfers Paradise. This is for SUPSA individual championship points and must be a SUPSA financial member to compete.
If you seem you are lacking events and competition, this is one not to miss!
Venue - Budds Beach Surfers Paradise (River Drive, Surfers Paradise)
Time - 9am for a 9:30am race start.
Board Size Categories - up to12'6" length boards and 14' + Length Boards
Distance - Long Distance 8 - 10 kms, Short Distance up to 4km's (for paddlers not comfortable with the long distance length + kids fun race!
BBQ, refreshments and character right-offs are supplied!

SUPSA Gold Coast presents the 2012/13 “Summer Twilight Paddle Series”

Introduction
SUPSA Gold Coast invites you to participate in the inaugural 2012/13 “Summer Twilight Paddle Series” on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The Series
This is based on an 8 event “time trial” series conducted over the months from October 2012 to February 2013.
Each paddle event will see participants complete a selected distance on the marked 1 kilometre “Flat Water Course” on Lake Orr Varsity Lakes.
Upon completion of the designated distance, each paddler will have their time recorded which will roll over to the next event date encouraging that participant to better their previous course time.

Venue
The SUPSA “Summer Twilight Paddle Series” will be held on Lake Orr Varsity Lakes. Meeting at “SPORTS HOUSE” Christine Avenue Varsity Lakes. (Opposite Varsity Primary School)

Meet 5pm - 5:15pm - Paddle Start 5:30pm sharp

Free for all financial SUPSA Members

Time Trial Rules
• The time trial will commence with a deep water start and finish.
• Each participant will be timed accordingly to their completed flat water course lap.

Kids Fun Paddle
• Course length will be designed to suit the child's age.
• Each child will have a water safety person with them the entire passage.

With the big comps happening overseas soon , will our Aussie hopefulls suffer from the lack of competetion here. Seems in the States there is a race every other weekend. You can train and train , but there is nothing that can match , match fitness?

Hi All,
Just a quick reminder that this coming Saturday is the “Went's Bridge” Distance Paddle Race. This will be a part of the SUPSA Club Championship Distance component.
The course will be starting from “Winders Park”, (Duringan Street Currumbin) heading west to the “Went's Bridge” turning point then back to “Winders Park” for the finish. The distance is approximately 8km's.
Those wishing to participate must be SUPSA Paddle Club financial members.
When: Saturday 11th August
Time: 9am start
Venue: Winders Park (Duringan Street, Currumbin)
Categories: Men's and Women's 12'6” Race Boards, 14' Race Boards and Unlimited length Race Boards.
BBQ and refreshments to follow on race conclusion.
This is the first race of the SUPSA Club Championships Distance component with quite a few more scheduled for the latter part of 2012. All paddlers will be vying for competition points towards their 2012 Club Championship Tally.
All SUPSA Paddlers and families are welcome and extending an invite to all new comers for a fun filled morning!

SUPSA's postponed 2nd Round of SUP Surf Club Champs will be this coming Sunday 15th July. The results from this event will determine the SUPSA representative team to compete the following Saturday in the Gold Coast Regional Titles.

Meet at Tugun SLSC 7:30am for a 8am first heat.
BBQ and a couple of cold ones following the surf. Everyone welcome to come along and have a dig. To compete for championship points and rep team qualification, you must be a SUPSA current financial member.

Looks like the conditions will be great with the swell still hanging around!

Hi All,

Although this Sunday is not a scheduled SUPSA Club surfing Round, Geoff Barden, myself and the rest of the SUPSA events committee are inviting you to an “Expression Session” of SUP Surfing this Sunday 12th February. This day will be perfect for those surf paddlers looking to refine their competition tactics and maneuvers in a mock contest nature. For those who are looking to learn new skills or even catch their first wave, Sunday is an ideal opportunity to do this.

Geoff will be designing the morning around some friendly competition of surfing, a “Tag Team” relay and some basic skill and surf awareness for those wanting to learn and get more out of their surfing.

A BBQ breakfast is also on the agenda as this day is also an OPEN day for the SUPSA Club. All club members, friends and families are welcome. We will have on hand SUPSA Club Membership Forms for all of those wishing to join or renew their membership.
